South Carolina Tuition Grants Program

The South Carolina Higher Education Tuition Grants Commission offers need-based tuition grants to qualified South Carolina residents who attend eligible South Carolina Independent Colleges on a full-time enrollment basis.

The application used to determine eligibility for a South Carolina Tuition Grant is the Free Application For Student Aid.  Applications are normally available beginning October 1 of the year prior to your college attendance, and the FAFSA must be completed for each year you are planning to attend college.  Currently, FAFSA will not be available until January 1, 2024. Apply as early as possible - the deadline for receipt of 2023-2024 applications (enrollment in Fall 2024 classes) is June 28, 2024.

RaiseMe Scholarship Platform

RaiseMe is focused on expanding access to higher education, especially among low income and first generation students. Rather than waiting until the end of high school to earn scholarships, RaiseMe enables students to earn scholarships throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade, for doing all the things that best prepare them to succeed, whether that’s getting good grades, volunteering in the community or joining an extracurricular.
