The final day of August brought an intense, hot challenge for dozens of teenagers from around Aiken County, with all six of the county's Junior ROTC units competing for honors under the guidance of Aiken County Veterans Council. A new event, Chairman's Cup, had students testing themselves in terms of physical fitness, teamwork and precision drill Aug. 31 and top honors went to North Augusta High School's unit, with Aiken and Silver Bluff following, in that order. Also on board were Midland Valley, South Aiken and Wagener-Salley. Way to go JACKETS!
