About: Sandspurs is a student-created annual which is published during the spring of each school year. The staff this year is comprised of thirty members, who are responsible for raising just under $90,000 in funds between ad sales and yearbook sales in order to produce our 400 page, full color, hard-cover yearbook.

Membership: Yearbook staff members are chosen through an application process which takes into consideration various criteria such as the students' GPA, school involvement, and classroom behavior. Our yearbook students also complete various community and school related volunteer and donation activities throughout the school year, including sponsoring NAHS's  Christmas Child program, an Easter egg hunt for our students with special needs, donation drive for Augusta Children's Hospital, and Christmas cards for our local veterans to name a few.  

Meetings: Sandspurs Yearbook is a class that is built into selected students schedules.

Important Dates  

Pictures will be taken in the cafeteria on the following days:

July 31st: Woods/Leyda Yearbook Pictures (8:30 am)

 August 1st: 9th, 10th, 11th graders, faculty, administration, and staff picture day.     

 Times for last names beginning:

A-C    9:00 AM
D-E   9:30 AM
F-G  10:00 AM
H-K  10:30 AM
L-N   12:45 AM
O-Q    1:00 PM
R-S     1:30 PM
T-V     2:00 PM
W-Z    2:30 PM

*Career Center/Aiken Innovate students are welcome to come at any time between 9-2:30

August 27th: Final makeup picture day for all underclassmen and faculty. This is also the FINAL day for senior yearbook pictures from Wilson Studios. Remember, only senior pictures taken by Wilson Studios will be included.

Seniors may schedule their own paid session with Wilson Studios or have their picture taken by our school photographer, Wilson Studios, during the makeup day on August 27th. All paid sessions must be scheduled with Wilson Studios PRIOR to September 27th. As a reminder, only senior pictures taken by Wilson Studios will be featured in the senior section of the yearbook - no exceptions.

 If a senior is having their picture taken at the school on August 27th, they must report to the cafeteria and tell the photographer they are a senior. Only one photo will be taken at no charge to be featured in the yearbook. After this date, no more senior pictures will be scheduled.

Other Important Senior Dates are listed below. Please be aware that if you are late arrival, you will need to come in early these days to participate.

August 20th at 8:20 AM:  Senior group picture during homeroom  (Jacket Arena)

September 20th: Homeroom: Seniors will vote for yearbook dedication and senior superlatives

October 18th: Final day to turn in senior baby ads and business ads

December 4th from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM: Club and Activity Picture Day. We will provide club times closer to this date.

Other Important Dates:

January 20th: Final day to purchase a 2024-2025 yearbook at yearbookforever.com

March 20th: Wilson Studios will present senior photo information to rising seniors during homeroom (Jacket Arena)
