Recovery

General Information

Including:

  • Unit Recovery

  • Attendance Recovery

  • Credit Recovery

All recovery time is voluntary and available to students who are in good standing with the school and do not have discipline concerns. Students must finish all assignments, have a passing grade for the course work, and attend every day until they are finished in order to recover their grade and or attendance.  Work will be done at school on their school laptops using Edmentum, an online platform.  Students may not work at home as work and tests must be proctored.  Students who do not show up on the first day will be unenrolled unless they have prior approval.

Unit Recovery

Unit Recovery is held during Intersession over Fall and Spring breaks. This is an opportunity for those who have a failing grade for Quarter 1, during Fall semester, or Quarter 3, during Spring semester, to raise their grade to a 60 for that Quarter only.  Quarter grades are then averaged together, along with their semester exam, to determine the final grade for the course.

 Attendance Recovery

Attendance recovery is for those students who have more than 5 unexcused absences in a 1.0 credit course or 3 in a 0.5 credit course.  Students may be able to recover some of those absences.

Students recover one class absence for each 90 minutes served.  Students are required to complete College and Career Ready prep work using Edmentum during this Attendance Recovery time.  If they attend each day and work consistently, they may recover a total of 4 absences per day.

Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery may be available to students who fail a course with a 50 or higher.  If students successfully complete coursework assigned, they will be able to recover the credit.  However, keep in mind that credit recovery will not change the student's GPA but will allow them to have the credit on their transcript. Not all courses are offered. Your school counselor can help guide you as to whether or not credit recovery is an option for you.
