PURPLE UP with Aiken County Public Schools on Friday, April 25, as we combine Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue by wearing PURPLE in a demonstration of support for the children of those who serve.
Spring Picture day is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 22nd. Strawbridge Studios will be here to take spring pictures. If you would like to order online, today is the deadline. Cash or checks should be sent in tomorrow. Only students who have purchased pictures will have their photographs taken. Don't miss out on this opportunity!
Attention parents of students in grades 3-5: State testing dates will begin in May. Please note these dates students will be tested. Thank you!

We are so excited for our Color Run this year! If you wish to earn the t-shirt, the deadline to turn in your form with online commitments has been extended to April 16th by noon. The level to earn the t-shirt is $20. The minimum amount to participate is $10, and donations can be made until April 28th.

We are so excited to have our Color Run on Tuesday, April 29th at 5:00pm. This is a fundraiser that will support student incentives. There will be no hassle with keeping up with money as all money will be collected online. We will also need volunteers for this event. Please see the attached flyers with the information about this fundraiser.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 5, there is a threat of severe weather with wind gusts in the morning forecasted to exceed 40 mph. This wind speed exceeds the threshold allowed for school buses to be on roadways. This wind event will result in a need to shift to e-learning tomorrow.
Employees should plan to report to their work location on a two-hour delayed start, with no building or office opening before 10 a.m.
Afterschool extracurricular practices, games, and events will continue tomorrow as scheduled. There will be no QuestZone tomorrow.

In recognition of National Children’s Dental Health Month, The Columbia Marionette Theatre presented Flora and Floppy Go to the Dentist for our Kindergarten through third grade students to promote dental health. In this playful and amusing visit to the dentist, the students learned how to take care of their teeth and that going to the dentist is not scary. The program was sponsored by the SCDA and DPH Oral Health Division. We need your help to continue promoting good dental habits in your child to help avoid cavities and gum disease. You can promote good health by brushing your child’s teeth when the first tooth appears, teach them how to brush and floss twice a day, encourage healthy snacks and make regular dental visits every six months.
The Literati Book Fair opens tomorrow at 8:00! Here are a few reminders and updated shopping times for a few of the days.
1. The book fair will be open from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. each day but Thursday. The book fair will close at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and all shoppers should be checked out by 1:30.
2. On Wednesday, the book fair will be open from 8:00-9:30 for 3rd Grade only. They will be shopping for books with Public Education Partners and choosing books to buy with $15.00 coupons lovingly donated from local businesses and individuals. Each 3rd grade student will get to purchase one or more books with his or her coupon! Thank you P.E.P.!
3. This is a cashless book fair. Please use the link found in the image to purchase Literati gift cards. Parents and family members are welcome to come shop with their students using credit/debit cards. Please check with your children's teachers to find out the best time to take them shopping. At 9:30, the book fair is open to everyone.
4. The online store can also be found using the link in the image if you would like to shop online. Books will either be shipped directly to your house or sent to the school and Ms. Baker will ensure they make it to your student.

ACPSD fifth graders are invited to submit an application for the Aiken County Career and Technology Center’s CTE Techno Camp being held on Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Interested students must submit an application by next Wednesday, February 26, at 5 p.m. to be considered.
As part of the application, students will select their choice of two CTE programs to explore such as Under the Hood, Team Fashion Design, Photo Pea: Introduction to Photoshop, Code-A-Bot: Robotics, Digital Art and Media: Photography, Cosmetology 101, Barber Shop 101, Aiken Culinary Chefs, Nail Tech 101, An EMT to the Rescue!, The Life of a Biomedical Scientist, and Hair Braiding 101.
