Mr. Joe Long

Mr. Joe Long- Director of Counseling, Last Names R-Sh

Mr. Long is entering 45 years of public education and his 26th year as a school counselor. He began his career at Paul Knox Junior High School in 1979 as the Head Football and Basketball Coach as well as the Athletic Director and taught physical education. In 1981, he transferred to North Augusta High School and taught driver education and coached a number of sports including football. Mr. Long worked as a school counselor at North Augusta High school from 1997 until 2009. In 2009 Mr. Long left North Augusta High School and worked in Lexington One School District for five years as a school counselor and football coach. He returned to North Augusta in 2014 to work as the Director of Counseling for North Augusta High School.

Mr. Long holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Physical Education, Parks and Recreation from Newberry College and a Masters in School Counseling from the University of South Carolina, and is an alumni of North Augusta High School! Mr. Long enjoys spending time with family and especially his two grandsons. Mr. Long enjoys college football as well as the outdoors and loves to deer and turkey hunt each season.

Mrs. Tracy Maroney

Mrs. Tracy Maroney, Last Names A-Coop

Mrs. Maroney is a North Augusta native and graduate of North Augusta High School. She began her career in education as a middle school teacher and taught South Carolina History for ten years before becoming a school counselor. Mrs. Maroney graduated from the University of South Carolina with an undergraduate degree in Political Science as well as a Masters degree in Public Administration. She later received her Masters in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. Mrs. Maroney met her husband at NAHS and they have four sons. She is excited to be working back in the Jackets' Nest with students last names A-Cooper.

Mrs. Erica Williams

Mrs. Erica Williams, Last Names Cop-Harp

Mrs. Williams received her Masters in School Counseling from Augusta State University in 2010 and started her counseling career in AIken County Schools in the fall of 2010.  She loves working for the county where she graduated. She is very excited to be at North Augusta High School. Before coming to North Augusta High School she was an elementary school counselor for 11 years and a middle school counselor for two years.  She is married and has one daughter. She enjoys kayaking, football games, and being outside. She works with students with the last names cop-harp.

Mrs. Anya Stewart

Mrs. Anya Stewart, Last Names Harr-Lo

Mrs. Stewart has worked as a school counselor since 2008. She is a proud graduate of North Augusta High School and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to work at her Alma Mater. Prior to coming to Aiken County, she worked in both Anderson One and Lexington One school districts. Mrs. Stewart has a B.S. in Psychology from Wofford College and an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Clemson University. Mrs. Stewart is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two wonderful children.  Currently, Mrs. Stewart is responsible for students with the last names Harr-Lo.

Mrs. Melissa Rowland

Mrs. Melissa Rowland, Last Names Lu-Q

Mrs. Rowland is entering her 15th year as a school counselor at North Augusta High School. She has spent her entire professional career serving the students of Aiken County.  Mrs. Rowland is a graduate of Limestone College, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Additionally, she earned her Masters of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College.  Mrs. Rowland is currently responsible for students with the last names Lu-Q. She enjoys spending time outdoors and making memories with her husband, daughter and son.

Dr. Laura Lusk, Last Names Si-Z

Mrs. Lusk is entering her third year as a school counselor at North Augusta High School. She is coming to us from Paul Knox Middle School. Even though she did not attend North Augusta High School, she has strong ties to us. Her husband, sister-in-law, and three of her four daughters graduated from North Augusta and her mother-in-law retired from NAHS as well. Her youngest daughter, Lauren, will be a rising Junior, and her other three daughters are all attending Clemson University. Jordan recently graduated and her twins, Ashlyn and Reagan will be Juniors. Mrs. Lusk is responsible for students with the last names Si-Z.

Ms. Liz Snellings, School Mental Health Counselor

Elizabeth Snellings ("Liz") is so excited to be able to be part of the NAHS family. She was born and raised in North Augusta and she states that "this town is where home will always be!"  She graduated from USC Aiken with a B.A in Sociology with a minor in Education. In 2023, she completed her MSW program and graduate from Baylor University’s School of Social Work.  She is now a fully licensed LMSW with the state of SC and soon to be in the state of GA! She has been with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health for over a year, working throughout the schools in Aiken County. When she's not in her therapist role, she's in an equally exciting role as “Mama” to an incredibly brilliant, lively, beautiful, two-year old daughter, Scarlett Priscilla and married to my very supportive and patient husband, Joshua. She enjoys making others laugh, thrifting and making everyday count.

Dr. Kelley Hoffer, School Psychologist

Dr. Kelley Hoffer lives in North Augusta with her daughter, Lucy, who is three years old. Her hobbies include dancing, fashion, and anything creative. She graduated in 2020 with her doctorate in school psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of SC and a nationally certified school psychologist. This is her fourth year working as a school psychologist for Aiken County Schools. She is also an adjunct instructor for undergraduate and graduate courses at Augusta University and runs her own private practice. Her clinical interests include Psychological Assessment, Individual Psychotherapy, and Anxiety, Depression, Interpersonal Issues, LGBTQ+, ADHD, Mood. She is excited to serve North Augusta High this year and work with such a great team of faculty and students!

Hilary Erde, Success Coach

Ms. Erde is grateful to join North Augusta High School as a Success Coach, where she is eager to support students in reaching their academic and personal goals. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rhodes College and is currently working towards a Master’s and Specialist’s degree in School Counseling from Florida State University. With experience in teaching, counseling, and community support, Hilary is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all students. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling to new places, and being with friends and family.

Mrs. Margaret Wimberly, Registrar

I grew up in North Augusta and graduated from North Augusta High School.  I graduated from Augusta University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. While attending college I started a successful gift store business and eventually settled down to start a family.  My family includes my husband who is a science teacher at NAHS and three children.  I love to create and have many hobbies which include quilting, woodworking, and jewelry making.  I am excited to be a part of North Augusta High.  This yellow jacket has come back to the nest!

Mrs. Dana Batchelor

Mrs. Dana Batchelor, Clerk

Dana Batchelor is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in both the medical and business sectors. She is happily married and has raised two wonderful sons. Dana's family has recently expanded with the addition of a grandson, who brings immeasurable happiness and laughter into her life. Dana treasures the moments she spends with her grandson. In her free time, Dana indulges in her love for sports, particularly football and baseball.
