Hi, welcome to the Mossy Creek Media Center, I am Ms. Landy, your media specialist. I have taught in the media center for over twenty-nine years. I began my career with the New York City Department of Education in Brooklyn, New York as a library teacher in grades K-6. I relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where I taught K-5 with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a media specialist. I am now here in Aiken County beginning year thirteen as your media specialist at Mossy Creek in North Augusta, South Carolina. I have absolutely loved helping to motivate and cultivate a life-long love of reading with your children!!! Looking forward to the great year ahead with your child! We run on a fixed schedule. Which means students are scheduled a specific time according to their schedule to visit the library for fifty minutes. Students in Kindergarten and first grade are allowed to check out 1 book. 2nd through 5th grade are allowed to check out 2 books at a time; Books are due back each week when they come at their scheduled time; if they need additional time they can renew for another week. Students are allowed to visit the media center with teacher permission whenever they need to check out new books. Books are due back in one week, and most can renew for an additional week if needed. The media center has 8 computers with access to our online catalog. Click below to access our catalog.
