ACTS Food Distribution Volunteer Students in front of ACTS van

ACTS Food Distribution is an organization that partners with churches, organizations, and individuals to assist our neighbors in need, in the name of Jesus Christ. ACTS is funded through local churches; individuals, business and organizational contributions; grants; and the two ACTS Resale Stores in Aiken and Graniteville. On the third Saturday of each month, ACTS Food Distribution and local volunteers set up from 8AM until 10:30AM at the Wagener Fire Department to distribute food items to those in need. They also set up at the Wagener United Methodist Church for food distribution on this same Saturday from 8AM to 9:30 AM specifically for senior citizens 60 years of age and older. Additional volunteers are always needed and welcome.

This Saturday, Mrs. Shackleford and Wagener-Salley High School students, Kaylee Craven, Emily Tindall, and Danielle Flowers, spent their morning helping sort food items and fill grocery bags. WSHS students Aulden and Emory Murray were also present as volunteers with Rocky Grove Baptist Church. This is such a wonderful event to participate in for community service hours and the enjoyment of giving back to those in need.

Students, if would like to find out more about community service and volunteer opportunities, please see Mrs. Shackleford.
