Information You Can Use
Improved Attendance and Academic Support Policy:
Attendance Policy:
At our institution, we value regular attendance and strive to provide students with the support they need to succeed. Here's our attendance policy:
Absences with Parental Note: Students are allowed a maximum of 5 absences per semester with a valid parental note. These notes are essential to ensure that your absences are excused.
Excessive Absences: Exceeding the allowed 5 absences with parental notes will result in an "FA" (Failing Attendance), which is equivalent to an "F" grade for the course.
No Winter Break Attendance Makeup: Please note that attendance hours cannot be made up during the Winter break, so it's important to manage your absences carefully.
Failing a Class: If you fail a class during the Fall semester, you will need to retake the class to earn the credit.
Credit Recovery:
We offer credit recovery options for students who need to improve their grades:
Credit Recovery Eligibility: Credit recovery is available for courses with a grade between 50-59, excluding "FAs."
Timing: Credit recovery must be completed during the following semester, allowing students the opportunity to catch up and improve their grades.
Are you failing a class? Not sure how to approach the situation?
If you find yourself struggling with a class and aren't sure how to address it, here's what you can do:
Open Communication: Reach out to your teacher to discuss your concerns. If you're uncomfortable talking to your teacher directly, you can send them an email.
Counselor Assistance: Follow up with your counselor, who can help facilitate communication and provide guidance to get you started on a path to success.
Need to make up attendance hours or require academic support?
We offer two options for students who need to make up attendance hours or seek academic assistance:
Option 1: Intersession Support
