Continuing a tradition of excellence spanning decades, the AHS Academic Quizbowl Team always seeks to recruit talented new players!

Among numerous high tournament finishes for Aiken last year, standouts include championships at the Alpha Lambda Delta USC Challenge, the Aiken County District Championship, and the JV division at the Dorman Fall Tournament. Aiken also finished second at the Southside Holiday Invitational, the Clemson Tigertown Throwdown, and the Porter-Gaud Invitational. Aiken finished third in the state at the 2023 NAQT South Carolina State Championship held at USC-Columbia in April. In the midst of all that success, we also hosted our first statewide event in many years by resurrecting the Triple Crown Challenge. The team's active and productive season culminated in Atlanta at the 2023 NAQT High School National Championship Tournament, where Aiken finished in 163rd place in the nation.

This year, Aiken placed third in the Battle for the Beach in Neptune Beach, FL, second in the Alpha Lambda Delta USC Challenge, won the varsity championship at the Southside Tiger Invitational, took third at the inaugural Patriot Bowl in Rock Hill, and finished fifth in the State Championship, though we were the tournament's second-highest scoring team. Our hosting has expanded to two tournaments that draw schools from around the state and region: the Fall Steeplechase in November and the Triple Crown Challenge in March. We are thrilled to be heading back to Atlanta for the 2024 NAQT High School National Championship Tournament!
