Attention parents of students in grades 3-5: SC READY state testing will be held in May: May 13th: ELA Writing (3-5) May 15th: ELA Reading (3-5) May 20th: Math (3-5) May 22nd: Science (4th grade only) Please note the testing dates listed above and ensure that appointments and other out-of-school functions are not scheduled on these dates. 🤖♻️ Recycled Robots Take Over 4th Grade! 🌎📖 Mrs. Mason’s 4th grade class at North Augusta Elementary shared their amazing Recycled Robots this Friday in honor of Earth Day! Students were challenged to design and build a robot using only recycled materials, then bring their creation to life through a narrative story. ✨💬 This creative project connected to multiple South Carolina 4th Grade Standards, including: 🔹 Science 4.E.2 – Exploring how humans impact Earth’s systems and promoting environmental responsibility. 🔹 ELA 4.W.3 – Writing imaginative narratives with clear sequences and detailed characters. 🔹 Visual Arts C Anchor Standard 2 – Organizing and developing artistic ideas using a variety of tools and materials. 🐬☀️ Dolphin Power Takes Over the Afternoon! ☀️🐬 This afternoon, our 3rd through 5th grade Dolphins dove into the fun for their Field Day adventure — and what a blast it was! 🎉 With 15 exciting stations like Lucky Color, Sponge Relay, Water Balloon Toss, Indiana Jones, Tug of War, Soccer Challenge, and so many more, our upper grade students showed off their teamwork, energy, and school spirit! 💦⚽🎯 A HUGE shoutout to all of the incredible parent, high school, and 5th grade volunteers who stepped up to help run stations, cheer on students, and keep everything running smoothly. 📚🔍 Text Feature Scavenger Hunt in 4th Grade! 🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️ Mrs. DeLattre’s 4th grade class at North Augusta Elementary had a blast during a Text Feature Scavenger Hunt this week! Students became reading detectives as they searched through nonfiction texts, looking for clues like headings, captions, bold words, diagrams, glossaries, and more. Their mission? Find each text feature and explain how it helps the reader better understand the topic! This fun and interactive activity supports South Carolina ELA Standard 4-5.1, which encourages students to "explain how text structures and features contribute to the meaning and purpose of a text." 📚🔥 Test Prep Boot Camp Fun Alert! 🔥🏀 Mrs. Moore's group at North Augusta Elementary took their comprehension skills to the next level during Test Prep Boot Camp by diving into the Central Idea—and they did it in the most epic way possible… with a game of Trashketball! 🧠➡️🏀 These young scholars practiced identifying the central idea of texts while keeping the energy high and the competition friendly. Every correct answer earned a shot at the trashket, blending learning and fun like pros!
