Back-2-School Safely
2023-24 BACK-2-SCHOOL SAFELY
Welcome to the ACPSD Back-2-School Safely home page!
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, signed into law in 2021, and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER), established to support school systems recovering from the impacts of COVID-19, required school districts to develop a plan for the safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services and to make regular updates to that plan. While Aiken County and other districts have been back to in-person instruction for some time now, the legislation still requires that this plan is updated at least every six months with public health guidelines and stakeholder input.
A draft update to the plan is below. Following an opportunity for stakeholders to share any input via email to communications (by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2024) and/or at the school board meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, any input received will be reviewed, considered, and implemented into the plan, where appropriate.
An updated plan will be submitted to the State Department of Education (by May 24) and posted on our website.
