I have had the distinct honor of being the principal of Kennedy Middle School since 2019. I began my tenure in public education 18 years ago in Dorchester District Two in Summerville, South Carolina and then moved to Aiken in 2019. While in education I have served as a teacher, assistant principal, and now principal of Kennedy Middle School. Being a public educator in South Carolina educator is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My philosophy in education is that all kids have ability to learn regardless of background, and the key to a child's heart is simply a positive, caring relationship. The reason I do what I do is to help kids unlock their God-given potential in order to thrive to be what they set their hearts and minds to be.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education from Charleston Southern University followed by my Master's Degree in Secondary Administration from the same university. I then continued my education several years later to complete by doctorate degree from Liberty University in the area of Educational Leadership. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees at my alma mater, Charleston Southern University, and will finish my year as the President of the Rotary Club of Aiken-Sunrise in June of 2024.

My beautiful wife, Denise, is also a public educator as a 5th grade teacher in Aiken County Public Schools, and we have five wonderful children ages 21, 17, 15, 11, and 7.

Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. Middle School Education - University of North Georgia
M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction - University of Phoenix
Certificate in Leadership and Administration - University of South Carolina

This is my 18th year at Kennedy where I’ve previously taught 7th & 8th grades ELA, Math, & Geometry. I also coached cheerleading for 7 years, sponsored FCA & Student Council, and led the Math Department on the Leadership team for many years.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education from the University of North Georgia in 2007 and continued to earn a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction along with a certificate in Leadership & Administration. I became an avid supporter and contributor to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2005 after my mother was diagnosed in 2002.

Throughout my years at Kennedy, I’ve worked alongside many wonderful educators and leaders who helped shape me into the educator I am today. I believe teaching children includes teaching the whole child – academically, socially, and emotionally. I strive to be a safe place for students and adults to reach out to when they want to celebrate success or need support. Kennedy is a home to me, and I love the community spirit associated with our school. I look forward to extending relationships with our stakeholders and having a great 2024-2025 school year.

I am excited about continuing this adventure as Assistant Principal.

Degrees and Certifications:

I am excited to be a part of the Kennedy nest as an assistant principal.  I grew up in North Augusta, so Aiken County is home for me.

I found a passion for working with the youth as a youth minister, so I switched careers and became a teacher in 2018. I am continuing with the love of working with students as an assistant principal.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Masters in Educational Leadership, and completing my doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership in December.

I believe in fostering a sense of community and service to the community.

My motto is “I will do the best I can, while I can, with what I have, while I’m here. “

Each day there are opportunities to be kind and make a difference in someone’s life.

I look forward to having an amazing school year, celebrating with students on their successes, working with parents and teachers to support students, and connecting with the community.
