Welcome to the Library Media Center

 Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Most students come to the library at least once a week to research, work on projects, book check outs, study, make up tests, read, create, and much more.

We encourage all students to get excited about reading. We have a variety of reading promotions to spark student interest throughout the year along with some special reading celebrations.

In order to engage student interest and to provide a spur to critical thinking, the book selections in the media center do include some titles that involve sensitive issues and/or mature content. Not every book selected will suit every student. Please let us know if you have any concerns.

  • Library Catalog / Destiny Discover Go to Clever - use your computer log-in to search for books, new titles, popular titles, and check out e-books, manage your Destiny Discover account and earn reading badges through Destiny Discover Engage.

  • Discus - Search the virtual library for South Carolina users. You must enter the user name and password to access off-campus. Log-in credentials can be found in the Library Media Center or posted in classrooms and expire in July of each year.

Greetings Students!

I am the School Library Media Specialist and have been in education for over twenty years as a classroom teacher and as a Reading and Math Interventionist. In 2018-19, I took the plunge to do something I have wanted to do for a very long time ... become a school librarian a.k.a. school library media specialist!

My goal is to help STEM learners build essential literacy skills in reading, writing, spelling, research, and technology. These skills will help prepare students for a career or college readiness in a multitude of STEM fields.

I love seeing our STEM Learners read for their enjoyment. The library media center is a place for every student and has material for every reading level and interest level.

Please stop by the School Library Media Center often to see what's new! The school library media center is no longer your grandparents' library! After the COVID-19 Pandemic ends, you'll be able to fully participate in some new and continued library programming ... spoken word, book clubs, gaming, family and military research, makerspaces, and L.I.T. sessions. Until then, we will get together in small groups and/or virtually.

We also have a School Store full of school supplies, including earbuds, and pen and pencil vending machines.

As a school library media specialist I get to do a variety of things everyday.  In my personal life, I also wear many hats as a mom, wife, and a grandmother with nine "grands" spread out across the country from Alaska to South Carolina! In my spare time I like to read, travel, quilt, craft, handwrite letters, and research my family history.
