Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Guerry, and I will be the school counselor for students with last names K-Z at Highland Springs Middle School. I began working as a school counselor in 2011 and am entering my 14th year.

I am returning to Aiken County from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and I am extremely excited to work with you and your students. I am originally from Beaufort, S.C., in the Lowcountry, so I am thrilled to be back in my home state and closer to family. In 2008, I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of South Carolina. In 2010, I obtained my Master's of Education in K-12 School Counseling from Georgia Southern University; and in 2020 I completed my Doctor of Education in K-12 Administration from North Greenville University.

In my spare time I like to travel internationally (feel free to ask me about my trips to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Western Europe). I also enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Luna, who is a 3-year-old black lab. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Greetings, Highland Springs families! I am your Career Specialist, and I’m excited to be a part of your counseling team. My role in your students’ lives is threefold: to expose them to careers beyond what they currently are aware of, help them get to understand themselves and their abilities better through brain games and interest inventories, and to help them start to understand what it really takes to get and keep a job.

I have been in this role for 16 years at various schools across our district, and I can honestly say I still love it. I earned a bachelors in Sociology from Furman University, and I am a Global Career Development Facilitator. I am married with three grown children, five grandchildren and four dogs.

Here’s to another year of exploration!
