On Friday, October 18, 2024, we celebrated our September Big Idea Breakfast.  The Big Idea for September was compassion.  Compassion is caring enough to do something about someone else’s needs.  The Big Idea of the Month is curriculum that teaches students core essential values.  Each month, we learn a new Big Idea which is a positive word or skill that prepares students to be their best and achieve those BIG dreams. The word is accompanied by an animal and a color that relates to that month's theme.   For September, the animal was the mouse.  In literature and folklore, they are sometimes depicted as underdogs or characters facing adversity. Despite their small size, they demonstrate resilience and compassion towards others, highlighting the idea that even the seemingly insignificant or marginalized beings are capable of great empathy and kindness.  The color was rose (red), commonly associated with the heart.

The following students were nominated by their teachers for September:

Madilyn Smith, Everett Robison, Ada Garner, Miracle Morgan, Arya Frakes, Cole Timmerman, McKinley Haupfear, Hadley Hicks, Gertrude Corley, Hudson McCarthy, Jumarion Posey, Kingston Sapp, Fabiola Cruz, Ava Palomares, Peter Ekundebe, Gregory Baker, Carly Clark, Xavier Green, Bentley Frix, Curtis Jensen, Williford, Jaiden, Zoei DeGraw, Camden Richardson
