On Thursday, August 29, 2024, we celebrated our first Big Idea Breakfast. The Big Idea for August was wisdom which means finding out what you should do and doing it. The Big Idea of the Month is curriculum that teaches students core essential values. Each month, we learn a new Big Idea which is a positive word or skill that prepares students to be their best and achieve those BIG dreams. The word is accompanied by an animal and a color that relates to that month's theme. For August, the animal was the raven, a highly intelligent bird that uses clever mimics. The color was violet, a color often associated with a sense of mystery, wisdom, and spirituality. Teachers nominated one student whose words and actions represented the core value of the month, and we celebrated them with a Big Idea Breakfast.
The following students were nominated by their teachers for August:
Zahir Miller, Kamila Comas, Ayla Suggs, Samara Gilchrest, Mason Dorsey, Nicolas Andriano, Bristol Kneece, Genesis Atkins, Mateo Garcia, Eva Weeks, Kingston Taylor, Andy Johnson, Owen Whitaker, Paxton Pollock, Nevin Bennington, Eugenio Montiel-Ruiz, Jonathan Jones, Madeline Tutson, Marianny Bringas Rivera, Zara White, Zabria Taylor, Zoei DeGraw, Chloe Moore, Natalie Rowe
Our Big Idea for the month of September is compassion, caring enough to do something about someone else's needs.
