Mrs. Sikes new Assistant Principal at Byrd

Graniteville, SC — Byrd Elementary is excited to announce the return of a familiar face in a new leadership role. Christen Sikes has been named the school’s new Assistant Principal, joining the administrative team alongside Principal Mrs. Enlow and Assistant Principal Mr. Davis beginning in early July.

Sikes brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education to her new role. With 17 years of classroom teaching and four years in Human Resources with Aiken County Public Schools, she offers a well-rounded and dynamic perspective on school leadership. Most recently, she has supported new teachers across the district and led initiatives around ADEPT evaluations and SC Lead, playing a vital role in teacher development and instructional excellence.

“Christen’s passion for students, educators, and community shines through in everything she does,” said Principal Enlow. “Her experience, insight, and heart for service make her a perfect fit for our school’s mission and culture.”

Known for her strong relationships with students, staff, and families, Sikes has always stood out as an educator who leads with care and purpose. Her background at both the school and district levels positions her uniquely to support the growth of Byrd Elementary as it continues to foster a supportive, student-centered environment.

A proud Graniteville resident, wife to an Aiken County native, and mother of three, Sikes has deep roots in the local community. Her return to Byrd marks not just a professional milestone, but a personal one as well—reconnecting her with a school and student body she knows well.

“I’m honored to return to Byrd in this new capacity,” said Sikes. “This school holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to working alongside our incredible team to support our students, families, and staff.”

With her extensive experience, community connections, and commitment to excellence, Christen Sikes is poised to make a meaningful impact in her new role. Byrd Elementary is proud to welcome her back—this time as a key leader guiding the way forward.
