At ASA, our focus is in LEARNING! Although grades are important and necessary, the learning that takes place in and out of the classroom is what will be the most important things you take with you from Freshman year to Graduation, and beyond. We ask that you TRUST the process, knowing that what we are doing is not comparable to other schools in the district. We are expecting you to do something that IS hard that requires not only aptitude and perseverance, but also high levels of maturity, responsibility, and integrity, which are all things you will continue to develop and enhance while at ASA!
We commit to staying focused on creating a positive culture where we build relationships among stakeholders, nurture individual students, work towards meeting personal growth goals, and celebrate successes along the pathway to lifelong learning. We will work diligently to provide access to the BEST: the most challenging curriculum, the most accelerated course of study, the most qualified faculty and staff, the most up-to-date classroom technology, and the most supportive environment. With that comes the highest of expectations. I encourage you to embody the Scholar Profile, get involved, communicate, and stretch yourselves personally by not shying away from challenges you will face. I know that you, as a Scholar, will rise to the challenges that will be set forth from year to year.
In the end, our goal is to equip each of you with all the necessary skills and resources to prepare you not only for your post-secondary academic endeavors, but also for life. Working together, I know we can surpass expectations and allow each of you to SHINE in your own way!
Do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers, counselor, and administration throughout the year for assistance – communication is key to everyone’s success at ASA.
Have A Great Year!
Sincerely,
Martha Messick
