The swim program at Midland Valley continued to make waves as the number of participating athletes increased this year. It takes dedication to practice in the summer heat. That type of dedication has helped the school build a program in a sport that was just developing a team a few years ago. The future of this team is promising, as a number of the swimmers are currently in grades 7, 8 and 9.
History was made this year by Mustang Swimmer Lea Leon-Guerrero, pictured above, as she became the youngest student athlete to qualify for the state championships in the sport of swimming. Lea's swam the 500 freestyle and the 100 breast stroke at the SC State Championships in October. The event was in Columbia, SC.
Congratulations to Lea and all of our MVHS Swimmers. We know the team will churn it up in 2025.
