Goals for Early College

These are the goals that MVHS is working with ATC to achieve.

  • Provide every student with the opportunity to earn up to 6 college credits at a reduced cost.

  • Be financially competitive with other dual enrollment agreements in the state

  • Opportunity to complete certificate programs at ATC and increase opportunities on the MVHS campus

  • Medical Assisting, Welding, Patient Care Assisting, etc.

  • Paid apprenticeship opportunities for students

  • Aiken Tech staff member housed at Midland Valley 3 days a week

  • Student recruitment

  • Participate in IGP meetings with students and parents

  • Student advisement for selection of college major

  • Accuplacer and test interpretation

  • Dual enrollment advisement and placement

  • Financial Aid application assistance

  • Technology

  • Provide a laptop cart and printer for Early College students

  • Free V-Tel distance learning dual enrollment options

  • Replicate free dual enrollment options available at WSHS and RSMHS

  • Expansion of our TAP agreement program

  • Adjunct opportunities for Midland Valley teachers

  • Eliminate the $25 retesting fee for Accuplacer

  • Early College textbook commitment

  • Professors agree to use the same textbooks for 3-4 years for Early College cohorts to reduce overall cost of the program
