Teachers at five Aiken County schools recently received a total of $30,000 from the company managing and operating the Savannah River National Laboratory.
Battelle Savannah River Alliance awarded a Midland Valley High School teacher $12,500 for a science, technology, engineering and math-related project Aug. 22.
A teacher from Greendale Elementary School received a $7,500 grant. A Hammond Hill Elementary School teacher received a $5,000 grant. Teachers from Jackson Middle STEM Magnet School and the East Aiken School of the Arts each received $2,500 grants.
