WJBF Scholar Athlete Award recipient surrounded by family, coaches, principal, teammates, and community members in school gym.

AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- This week’s scholar athlete not only has a big-time leg. He’s got a big-league brain too.

Midland valley high senior kicker Peyton Waters is a 4-year starter who’s racked up more than 150 points. He’s the new record holder for career points, a record that used to belong to his father.

Peyton’s also an all-region selection with a 40-plus yards-per-punt average, and as a beta club member and lander scholar award recipient, his 4.2 GPA proves he’s just as effective in the classroom.
