Jabria Heyward, a second-grader at East Aiken School of the Arts, held her glossy new copy of “Dinosaurs Before Dark” against her cheek.
“I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it! I love it!” she said. “I’m going to read it to my little sister!”
Using a thick pencil ringed with pink and white stripes, she wrote her name on the book plate inside her gift from Rotary Club of Aiken. “I like the cover,” she said, “and the pictures, and the words.”
