SOUTH CAROLINA 32, GEORGIA 25

AUGUSTA — Team South Carolina scored 20 points over the course of the final six minutes of Border Bowl V to become the first team to win back-to-back games in the all-star game's short history with a 32-25 victory.

Two of South Carolina's three fourth quarter touchdowns came thanks to a South Carolina defensive unit that ruled the day. After Ridge Spring-Monetta's Melvin Alewine got to the quarterback and forced a fumble on the sack. Strom Thurmond's Tyrek Williams recovered the fumble and took it to the end zone to give South Carolina it's first lead of the day.

Georgia evened things up with a touchdown pass moments later, but the next time they threw to that side of the field on offense, North Augusta defensive back DeJuan Bell came up with the game changing play everyone was waiting on him to make. With Georgia threatening to take the lead, Bell intercepted a pass and weaved his way down the field for a 90-yard touchdown.

"The team had been telling me in the locker room they'd been waiting on me," Bell, who was named the Defensive Player of the Game, said. "Once I got the ball in my hand, I just knew I had to make a play for the team."

South Aiken High School's Deshun Kitchings was named the Offensive Player of the Game.
