The Augusta Chronicle Names Best and Brightest

The Augusta Chronicle recognizes 20 outstanding students in the Class of 2020: those who have been selected for the 18th annual Best & Brightest Awards. Applicants are evaluated on academic performance, character, community service, leadership and extracurricular activities as well as a nomination letter and an interview.

Congratulations to Brayden Poorvin of North Augusta High School for making the list! Nominated by his Science Teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, Brayden is the North Augusta High School Class of 2020 Valedictorian, and has been on the A Honor Roll from 2016-2019. He is a College Board National Merit Commended Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction.

He has worked to become an American Heart Association-certified CPR instructor this year, and as a gift to his senior class, he along with trained paramedics have sought to teach all 300-plus students the correct way to perform CPR.
