Cyber Stars

Girls Go CyberStart is a girls-only community geared to inspire and uncover future female talent through a new national program - CyberStart America. This immersive learning resource is an onramp to a career in one of the world’s fastest growing industries: cyber security. Members compete against all CyberStart America players for career- enabling college scholarships while also having an exclusive space to work together and win community-specific rewards.

This year, South Aiken High School had its first Girls Go CyberStart team enter the Cyberstart America girls-only challenge in March. Fourteen female students joined, eleven girls competed in the first round and 2 of our Thoroughbreds, Seniors Gabrielle Riggins and Rebecca Wright, qualified and competed in the National Cyber Scholarship Competition April 5-7, 2021. Their hard work earned South Aiken High School the honor of being recognized as a Cyber Opportunity School!

We are so proud of these ladies and they are already excited to see how far they will go in next year’s competition.

This year's team comprised of Seniors Gabrielle Riggins and Rebecca Wright, Junior Hazel Moore, Sophomores Grace Bowers, Eowyn Garman, Abigail Kerr, and Savana Welch, and Freshmen Alyxis Cheeks, Sarah Rice, Yuridia Rivera, and Amaya Tetreault.
