South Aiken High School Thoroughbreds Send Seven to Collegiate Athletics on National Signing Day

South Aiken High School celebrated National Signing Day on Wednesday in a packed library, as seven student-athletes signed to continue their academic and athletic careers.

Ally Bollig (Vanderbilt soccer), Jacob Butler (USC Aiken baseball), De’Maurion Ginn (Newberry football), Lindsey Greene (Spartanburg Methodist golf), Brylee Harriell (Newberry cheerleading), Leo Myers (Wofford soccer) and Rasheem Neloms, Jr. (Shaw soccer) were honored in front of coaches, family members, friends and more.

“It’s a relief, but this is where the next journey starts,” Bollig said. “The competition is still there. The drive is still there. Can’t stop now. I have a lot ahead of me. I just have to grind to figure it out. I’m super blessed to be able to play this sport every single day and have everybody here to support me. It’s great.”

Bollig is returning to the T-Breds’ lineup after missing her junior season with a torn ACL. She said coming back from injuries has been hard, but her love for the game and having a big support system around her has helped.
