Sara-Beth Brown Named Robert E. Alexander Outstanding K-12 Administrator of the Year

The principal at Chukker Creek Elementary School was surprised with an award at the Aiken County Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, May 10.

Dr. Gary Senn, with the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center at USC Aiken, presented the Robert E. Alexander Outstanding K-12 Administrator of the Year award to Sara-Beth Brown, the principal at Chukker Creek Elementary. Of the award, Senn said they look for administrators who promote STEM in the schools.

“We enjoy bringing students out to the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center on field trips, but that was really difficult during COVID and working with schools, what we did, instead of bringing schools to the Ruth Patrick Science of Education Center, we brought the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center to the students,” Senn said. “That created a number of challenges and we’re very thankful to the school board administrators for allowing us to come into schools. This particular principal was very helpful in getting us and inviting us and having us be there.”
