History came to life Friday as fifth graders at Aiken Elementary School held a Living Wax Museum .
Participating students filled the cafeteria dressed as different historical figures. Parents and teachers walked past each station, where students had a chance to read information and fun facts about their character. Each presentation was accompanied by photos and props.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elvis Presley, Rosa Parks and Abraham Lincoln were some of the many figures portrayed at the event.
“About a month ago they had to choose a person from the 19th or 20th century that relates to our social studies unit,” said fifth-grade teacher Elizabeth Hiller. “They typed up their research, and part of that was that they had to figure out something that they would wear to represent the person and really bring it to life.”
