Aiken County Public Schools Moving to Paperless Flyer Distribution System

Beginning on Monday, August 29, 2016, the Aiken County Public School District will transition from the distribution of paper flyers to a paperless E-flyer system that will send school and community flyers directly to parents and staff members.

The District has contracted with industry leader Peachjar to provide this new service.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this convenient, cost-conscious and environmentally responsible new E-flyer distribution system to our schools, parents and community stakeholders,” commented Aiken County Public Schools Director of Communications Merry Glenne Piccolino. “Through this new system we hope to speed up both the flyer approval process and the flow of information between ourselves and our stakeholders.”

Peachjar provides an innovative flyer management system that sends school-approved E-flyers directly to parent inboxes while also posting them online at www.acpsd.net and on each school website homepage. Flyers may be accessed by clicking on the Peachjar “button” (shown above, top left) displayed on each home page. Now, parents will be able to find and view flyers quickly and easily announcing the latest area activities and events. Peachjar charges a reasonable fee for the service. However, the fee may be waived for flyers promoting events which are provided free to students. Paper flyers will no longer be distributed.

Parents may register with Peachjar through a link provided in an e-mail sent Friday to those with PowerSchool and Parent Portal accounts. Parents may also register by clicking the Peachjar “button” located on their student’s school website homepage.

Meanwhile, community partners may register as an "Enrichment or Community Organization" and upload flyers for approval and distribution to desired school(s). As an additional service, Peachjar offers free, easy-to-use flyer template designs to all account holders. For information, visit online at www.peachjar.com or contact Peachjar directly by calling (877) 402-1786.

After a flyer has been submitted, it will be routed automatically to the District office for approval, then e-mailed as a visually engaging image to all parents who have their e-mail address on file at the school/district and posted online as indicated above.

“We know that time is a valuable and highly-limited resource to our parents and community partners, and we want to be respectful of that by providing the most efficient means available to transfer important school and community information,” Piccolino continued.
