During the 2016-2017 school year, the Aiken County Career Center Health Science Program transitioned to an extensive, three-year program for sophomores, juniors and seniors.
At completion of the program, the students will hold the following national certifications: Community Emergency Response Team, OSHA 10 hour for General Industry, American Heart CPR/First Aid and the National Healthcare Association’s Patient Care Technician. Students practice and train in a real-world clinic setting to master patient care skills. During their senior year, students take these skills into the Aiken Regional Medical Facility during a four-month clinical experience.
Each year, students are also involved in both school and community service projects through their student-led HOSA Future Health Professionals organization.
