District’s Pre-Kindergarten 4K Registration Ends April 28

The Aiken County Public School District is pleased to announce that open registration for the 4K Child Development Program is currently underway and will continue through Friday, April 28, 2017.

Walk-in registrations with a completed enrollment packet will be accepted each day between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the specific school each child is zoned to attend. Enrollment packets are currently available at District schools, and a school zone locator may be found online at www.acpsd.net. Navigate to the “About Us” channel for the school zone locator.

Space is limited. The full-day 4K program is for children who have turned four-years-old prior to September 1, 2017, and income-eligible children. All required documents, including proof of residence, an official birth certificate*, immunization record, Medicaid card (if applicable) and income verification, must be provided for a student to be considered for enrollment. Enrollment for the 4K Child Development Program is non-discriminatory.

In the event that the number of income-eligible children exceeds the space available, additional children will be placed on a waiting list. All registered students will be baseline-tested using a school-readiness screening tool. Upon registration, parents will be notified of the testing date and time for their child.

For information, please contact Jaime Creasy, Pre-Kindergarten and School Readiness, at (803) 663-4204.

*In the event that providing a birth certificate is not possible, please speak to the school’s guidance counselor and alternative accommodations will be made.
