The 2017 South Carolina Band Directors Association high school marching band competition season concluded this past weekend on Saturday, October 28, with a pair of Aiken County Public School District marching bands putting on outstanding performances and finishing in the Top Ten in the Class 4-A and Class 2-A classifications, respectively.
The North Augusta High School “Jacket Regiment” competed at Spring Valley High School in Columbia and finished in Ninth Place out of the top 16 Class 4-A marching bands in the state. The “Jacket Regiment” also received a “Superior” rating during the state competition.
North Augusta’s “Jacket Regiment” earned one of the 16 placements in the state marching band championships after receiving one of only four “Superior” ratings and placing third in the Class 4-A Lower State Marching Band Championships.
Also competing at Spring Valley High School this past Saturday was Silver Bluff High School’s “Silver Spirit” marching band, which finished Tenth out of the top 16 Class 2-A marching bands in South Carolina. “Silver Spirit” also earned an “Excellent” rating during the state competition.
Silver Bluff’s “Silver Spirit” reached the state championships after finishing in Sixth Place in the Class 2-A Lower State Championships and earning an “Excellent” rating.
Congratulations to North Augusta High School’s “Jacket Regiment” and Silver Bluff High School’s “Silver Spirit” marching bands on terrific 2017 marching band competition seasons.
