Mike Rosier Named Director of Communications

Mike Rosier was named Director of Communications in September after serving as the District’s Communications Coordinator for four years. The transition from Coordinator to Director was seamless as he had been heavily involved in all aspects of the District’s communication processes from sending robocalls to managing the website and social media announcements.

“I’m excited to lead the Communications Team. It’s an honor and privilege to continue serving families and my colleagues in this new role,” Rosier said.

Rosier was at the forefront of the redesign of the District website in 2016, and continues to train individuals at the school level on creating and maintaining school websites.

With two children currently enrolled in Aiken County Public Schools, he understands the importance in keeping open lines of communication with all stakeholders, and works with local media to share up to date information as it becomes available.

Rosier recently earned a master’s degree in Intelligence and Security Studies from Augusta University, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in International Relations from USC-Aiken. He is a graduate of Silver Bluff High School in the Class of 1993.

Prior to joining the District in 2016, he had an extensive career as a journalist at several newspapers throughout South Carolina and Georgia, including The Aiken Standard and The Augusta Chronicle. He currently serves as the United Way of Aiken County Coordinator for ACPSD, the United Way of Aiken County Education Division Chairman, and Chairman of the local Education Matters non-profit.

“I love this community and I’m dedicated to providing accurate and timely communication to parents and employees.”
