Aiken County Public Schools is pleased to announce its 2021-22 Stars of Public Education Teacher of the Year (TOY), First Year Teacher of the Year (FYTOY), and Giving Even More (GEM) Honor Court members, who are finalists for the overall school district TOY, FYTOY, and GEM awards.
“We are so proud of these superstar public education professionals and all they have achieved,” stated Aiken County Public School District Chief Officer of Human Resources and Administration, Jennifer Hart. “These individuals have thrived and enriched the lives of their students, families, and colleagues during a global pandemic and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate their excellence.”
This year’s Teacher of the Year Honor Court includes Schofield Middle School Spanish Teacher Carolyn Anderson, Kennedy Middle School Special Education Teacher Carole Collum, South Aiken High School English Teacher Ola Martin, Langley-Bath-Clearwater (LBC) Middle School English Language Arts Teacher Rosalyn Greene, Leavelle McCampbell Middle School ESOL Teacher Sarah Ann Wood, and Midland Valley High School Social Studies Teacher Bianca Woodard.
The First Year Teacher of the Year Honor Court includes Hammond Hill Elementary School First Grade Teacher Jordan Chavous, Aiken High School Health Science Teacher Kristy Ghrist, Greendale Elementary School First Grade Teacher Leah Kelly, Aiken County Career and Technology Center Health Science Teacher Stephanie Redd, Aiken Elementary School Third Grade Teacher Lauren Walker, and North Augusta Middle School Special Education Teacher Cathleen Woenker.
This Year’s Giving Even More (GEM) Honor Court includes Warrenville Elementary School Teacher Aide and Bus Driver Kelia Andrews, Hammond Hill Elementary School Secretary Christine Collins, Special Programs Department Secretary Michelle Lee, Belvedere Elementary School Special Education Aide Cheryl May, Paul Knox Middle School Special Education Aide Agnes Norton, and Area One Transportation Supervisor Rashad Roland.
We look forward to honoring each Honor Court member when the Stars of Public Education Teacher of the Year, First Year Teacher of the Year, and Giving Even More (GEM) award winners are announced in June.
