Carla Dupert, who currently serves as an assistant principal at Kennedy Middle School, has been named as principal of Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School for the 2022-23 school year. Aiken County Board of Education members approved Dupert’s appointment during the school board’s March 22, 2022, regularly scheduled meeting.

Dupert says she is thrilled to have this new opportunity to continue to learn and grow as she utilizes her leadership skills to guide faculty, staff, and students.

“I believe that everyone can be motivated to break out of their circumstance and be successful in whatever capacity they choose, and I want to be a part of that transformation,” stated Dupert.

Dupert’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.

Dupert began her career with Aiken County Public Schools in 2007, serving as a biology and anatomy teacher at Aiken High School. She also coached multiple sports, including girls’ golf, softball, and middle school basketball. Dupert served as a high school Content Interventionist in 2016 and she was appointed as an assistant principal at Kennedy Middle School in 2019.

“Working at Kennedy Middle School has prepared me well for this new role,” commented Dupert. “I have had tremendous mentors in my life, and due to my transparency, I have always had good working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. I’m open to listening and problem solving as a team.”

During her first year at Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School Dupert plans to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and parents to create goals and establish a school culture built on trust, commitment and a team effort.
