Long-time Aiken County Public Schools educator and administrator Kimmerie Allen has been named Principal of Redcliffe Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year.
The Aiken County Board of Education approved Allen’s appointment during the school board’s Tuesday, April 19, 2022, regularly scheduled meeting.
“I am excited and honored to be named Principal of Redcliffe Elementary,” Allen said. “Being the principal allows me more of an opportunity to be a servant leader and have an impact not only on my students but their families and our community.”
Allen is a product of Aiken County Public schools, having attended North Aiken Elementary School, Schofield Middle School, and graduated from Aiken High School. She has spent her entire career in Aiken County Public schools, starting in 1999 serving as a school counselor at Ridge Spring-Monetta elementary and middle schools. In 2010, she was named the assistant principal of Belvedere Elementary School. She also participated in the District’s Aspiring Principals Program which allowed her to gain administrative experience prior to being offered the position.
“I have had so many great experiences in my career in Aiken County to prepare me for this role,” Allen said. “I learned how to build impactful relationships being a guidance counselor. Working with amazing administrators taught me about different leadership styles and allowed me to adapt them to my own leadership style. Also, being a part of the rigorous Aspiring Principals Program really helped prepare me to be Principal ready.”
Allen’s academic background includes a Bachelor degree in Education, a Master’s of Education in Counselor Education, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from South Carolina State University.
During her first year as the school’s principal, Allen said she plans to focus on establishing relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community members.
“My initial goals for the upcoming school year will be to listen to my stakeholders to see what is working and what needs attention,” Allen stated. “I’ll be visible and available for the Redcliffe community to get to know me.”
Allen’s duties as Redcliffe Elementary School principal will begin in July.
