Joshua Snipes has been appointed as an assistant principal at Aiken High School for the 2022-23 school year.
Snipes is a graduate of Aiken High School and looks forward to returning to his alma mater in a leadership role. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary and Middle Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina Columbia.
Snipes began his teaching career at South Aiken High School where he was named the 2015-16 First Year Teacher of the Year. He has since taught ninth through twelfth grade Advanced Placement, Honors, and College Prep courses at both South Aiken High School and Aiken iNNOVATE including AP Human Geography and AP Psychology.
Snipes holds a South Carolina Professional Certification and is certified as a 4.0 evaluator and CERRA mentor. He is a lead mentor at the high school level, Aiken Lead In participant, and serves as a member of the Title Constituency Committee and Code of Conduct Committee for the District.
His duties as assistant principal at Aiken High School will begin this Fall.
