Stockton Named Assistant Principal At Silver Bluff High School For The Upcoming 2023-24 School Year

Joshua ‘Lance’ Stockton has been named as an assistant principal at Silver Bluff High School for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Stockton’s appointment as assistant principal was approved during the regular meeting of the Aiken County Board of Education on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Stockton’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from North Greenville University (2007) and a Master of Educational Leadership from Anderson University (2016).

His career in education began in 2011 as Director of Bands for Berea High School where he was named SCMEA’s Outstanding Young Music Educator for the 2011-2012 school year. Stockton went on to serve as Director of Bands for Hartsville High School and Greenwood High School before transitioning into administration as an assistant principal for South Florence High School in 2017.

Stockton relocated to Aiken County later in 2017 where he joined ACPSD as the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator. He presently serves as Director of Bands and Visual & Performing Arts Department Head at Silver Bluff High School. During his four years at Silver Bluff High, Stockton has led the Silver Spirit Marching Band to two South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) silver medals. He was recently named the school’s Teacher of the Year. 

Stockton will begin his new role as assistant principal at Silver Bluff High School in July.
