Davis Named Assistant Principal at Byrd Elementary School for 2023-24 School Year

Kyle Davis has been named assistant principal at Byrd Elementary School for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. He has served in the role on an interim basis since October, and the school board approved his official appointment during their regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

Davis’ academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwestern State University (2008) and a Masters in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech University (2011). He went on to earn his Masters plus 30 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and completed his school administrator certification in 2021.

Davis began his career in public education in 2011 and has since taught nearly every grade at the elementary level. After eight years in the classroom, he served as an educational leader at a top-performing elementary school in Louisiana for three years before relocating to the Aiken area in 2022.

Davis brings an extensive background in supporting teachers with curriculum, instruction, data analysis, and assessment. He is also trained in the Science of Reading, which has allowed him to help many students discover their hidden love of reading. “Literacy for all is a passion that is near to my heart,” shared Davis. “I enjoy making learning fun for our teachers and students. We've worked hard to create an environment where our students and staff are excited to come to school each day."

Davis is overjoyed to continue serving the students, families and staff of Byrd Elementary School in an Assistant Principal role for the upcoming 2023-24 school year, which officially begins in July.
