Veteran Administrator Dr. Renee Bryant-Evans Named New Principal at Chukker Creek Elementary School for the 2023-24 School Year

Veteran educator and administrator of 30 years Dr. Renee Bryant-Evans has been named the new principal for Chukker Creek Elementary School ahead of the 2023-24 school year.

Aiken County Board of Education members approved Dr. Bryant-Evans’ appointment during the school board’s June 13, 2023, regularly scheduled meeting. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Bryant-Evans to the Aiken County Public Schools family,” commented Aiken County Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools Julie Revelle. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that will serve the Chukker Creek Elementary community well.” 

“I am deeply honored and incredibly thankful to be afforded the opportunity to be a part of ACPSD and serve the magnificent students, faculty, and staff at Chukker Creek Elementary,” Dr. Bryant-Evans shared. “My goal is to work alongside Chukker Creek’s faculty and staff to ensure that our school continues to be a place where students thrive academically, feel welcome, and loved.”

Dr. Bryant-Evans’ academic background includes a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and an Educational Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Fort Valley State University and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University.

During her career in education, she spent 12 years as a classroom teacher before serving in school administration and has served as Assistant Principal for Oak Hill Elementary, Rocky Plains Elementary, and Newton High School, Principal of Gadsden Elementary School, and Senior Officer for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Development for K-12 Transformation Schools.  Dr. Bryant-Evans will transition to her role as Principal at Chukker Creek after most recently serving as Acting Associate Superintendent for K-12 Transformation Schools for Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.

Among her many leadership and professional accomplishments, Dr. Bryant-Evans’ former school was designated as a United States Department of Education Green Ribbon School for their sustainability and health promoting efforts during her principalship. Additionally, she received the Deborah Enoch Award for Contributions made to STEAM Education in Savannah, Georgia. 

“I am excited about the opportunity to collaboratively continue shaping the education and overall school experiences of our young children and look forward to continued gains in academic achievement,” Dr. Bryant-Evans commented. “I also look forward to continuing Chukker Creek’s Leader in Me initiative to further enhance our school culture and climate.”

Dr. Bryant-Evans has an open-door policy and welcomes feedback, ideas and suggestions as she joins the Chukker Creek Elementary school community.  

“I look forward to building strong relationships with Chukker Creek’s faculty, staff, families, extended families, and business partners in the coming weeks to positively impact the lives of all of our students,” she shared. “I know that with their unwavering support, students educated at Chukker Creek Elementary will continue to be CHAMPIONS.” 

Dr. Bryant-Evans will begin her duties as Chukker Creek Elementary School principal in July.

CCES families are invited to “Meet the Principal” on Friday, July 21, 2023. Drop in from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Chukker Creek Elementary to meet Dr. Bryant-Evans ahead of the 2023-24 school year which begins on July 25.
