Thematic Program - School of Science

Paul Knox Middle School of Science

At Paul Knox Middle School’s thematic school of science, students are provided with opportunities for collaboration and acceleration within the framework of science. The program immerses students in an environment that emphasizes discovery and exploration, collaborative study, scientific research, the use of scientific tools and technology, and a strong sense of community. Students in all grade levels are given the opportunity to engage in scientific activities in a technology-rich environment. All science classes are equipped with one-to-one computing devices, and the thematic focus is integrated into ELA, science, math, and social studies by supporting inquiry standards. Grade-level community outreach events take place at the Ruth Patrick Science Center, the Brick Pond Park, and through environmental projects on the Paul Knox campus. At Paul Knox Middle School, we believe that our students deserve exposure to the many scientific opportunities that surround the CSRA every day.
