Aiken County Public Schools is implementing the "I Love U Guys" Standard Response Protocol (SRP) this school year. The "I Love U Guys" SRP is a nationally-recognized program designed to enhance school safety by providing clear and concise protocols for responding to various emergency situations. By adopting this protocol, we aim to streamline our emergency response procedures and empower our school community with the knowledge and tools necessary to respond effectively in times of crisis.

Throughout this school year and the years that follow, our staff and students will receive comprehensive training on the "I Love U Guys" SRP to ensure that we are well-prepared to respond as necessary. Additionally, we will work closely with parents, community partners, and local law enforcement agencies to communicate this Standard Response Protocol and promote awareness and understanding of its principles and procedures.

We believe that the implementation of the "I Love U Guys" SRP will further strengthen our school's safety infrastructure and foster a culture of preparedness, as well as confidence in our collective ability to respond effectively to circumstances that necessitate its use.

The terms (Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter) and procedures to follow are simply defined, and will be widely communicated and posted as visual reminders on school campuses.

We’ll utilize the terms (Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter) internally in our response, and externally to update parents/guardians, as well as the larger school community.  This decision reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families, and we are confident that this proactive approach will contribute to a safer and more secure learning environment for everyone involved.
