Over the past thirteen years, my experience and service in education has reached a wide variety of students at all three instructional levels. I began my career as a Special Education teacher before moving into administration. I am eager to work alongside students, teachers, staff, parents, and the community to ensure the success of Aiken Elementary.

Mrs. Misty McConnell

Mrs. McConnell is excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Aiken Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year! For the past three years, Mrs. McConnell has served as the assistant principal of Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School.

Before her time as an assistant principal, she spent 9 years teaching at Redcliffe Elementary School where she was a Lead Teacher for Aiken County and was honored to have been named the 2020-2021 District Teacher of the Year for Aiken County Public Schools.

Mrs. McConnell grew up in the small town of Jackson and graduated from Silver Bluff High School (Go Bulldogs!) She has been married to her husband Kevin for 12 years and they have a sweet little girl Camerynn, who turns 9 this summer.

Mrs. McConnell is looking forward to a new school year of learning and fun. She is excited to be a part of the AES Mavericks family where she knows we are truly better together!
