My name is Dr. Lollie Becton and I am so excited to begin another school year at Gloverville Elementary as the school counselor. I earned a Bachelors in Science in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston, Masters in Education in Elementary School Counseling from USC, Educational Specialists in Counselor Education from USC, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Elementary Education from USC in 2006. In 2020, I completed my National Certification in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program as a Trainer Consultant. Obviously I love school and learning! In adding the years previously at Gloverville, this will be my seventh year at Gloverville and ninth year in the Aiken County Public School District.
I am originally from Columbia, SC and moved to Augusta, GA seventeen years ago. My husband and I have four children - two daughters ages 15 and 17 and two sons ages 23 and 25. I am involved in my daughters' activities and their high school. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, and walking our family dog.
As the school counselor, I will conduct classroom guidance sessions approximately twice a month in grades 4K-5th on a variety of topics. I offer individual and small group counseling. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by phone 803-593-7280 ext. 4 or email lbecton@acpsd.net. I look forward to partnering with families and faculty this year!
