What is a Technology Fee?

For every student, an annual non-refundable Technology Fee will be collected.  The fee provides one incident of a lost charger, keyboard damage, or screen damage. This fee also covers normal use, mechanical breakdown, and replacement parts necessary to repair the device.  This fee does not cover negligence or intentional damage.

What is the difference between accidental and intentional damage?

The Technology Fee does not cover a situation where a student was proven negligent or intentionally damaged an ACPSD device.  If it is believed a student intentionally damages an ACPSD device, the ACPSD Technology deparment will assess the situation and determine a reasonable fee due for the repair.  These fees are listed in the ACPSD LVE Contract and are subject to change.

My Child left their laptop on the bus

To prevent devices from being stolen, devices will not be left on the bus overnight.

1) Drivers will return the devices at the end of their route to the Area Transportation Office.

2) The Transportation Supervisor will contact the Technology Coordinator.

3) The device will be picked up by Technology and returned to your child school.
